Now owned by Mohammed Al Barwani the owner of the Dutch yard Oceanco, the Turkish shipyard Proteksan-Turquoise Yachts has changed its name to become Turquoise Yachts.
Despite the common ownership the two shipyards are expected to operate as separate autonomies.
The shipyard located in Tuzla near Istanbul, was established in 2001 when Mehmet Karabeyoglu joined forces with Hayati Kamhi, to create Proteksan-Turquoise Yachts.
From its creation it produced 20 superyachts the last being the 50 metre Ileria, delivered in 2013.
The shipyard suffered financially following the badly handled French investigation by French authorities in to the sinking of Yogi. Since then orders are picking up and projects currently in build include an 81 metre vessel scheduled to be delivered in 2018, and a 47 metre project due to be completed in 2016.
