Freshly resigned from Burger Yacht Sales, Thom Conboy already the President of the Americas for Ocean Independence is a man with an expanding portfolio. He has now been additionally appointed Director of Sales in North America, Mexico, Bahamas and Caribbean, for Heesen Yachts.
Prospecting for clients in this territory Conboy will represent Heesen Yachts at boat shows and will develop a joint marketing campaign for the American market with the team head-quartered in the Netherlands.
Mr. Conboy started his career in yachting in the Eighties and has a very diverse background in the marine industry. His expertise spans from new construction to repairs and refits of large yachts. Having worked both for shipyards and brokerage houses his knowledge of the sales process and yacht construction is comprehensive.
Conboy’s understanding of the product and brand values runs deep having previously worked for the Dutch based shipbuilder when owned by Frans Heesen.
Mr. Conboy will be based in the Heesen offices in Fort Lauderdale Florida and both he and Ocean Independence have confirmed that he represents Heesen without any involvement from any other individual or entity. Quite separately and individually, he will undertake brokerage and charter for Ocean Independence. He told us, “These are two completely separate things. It does, however, provide me with representation of two of the finest companies in the industry, each in their own right.”
