Who is she?
Marie is a 55 metre (180.5ft) ketch custom-built for an experienced Owner in the Netherlands to an André Hoek design by Vitters in 2010. Her distinctive black and red hull, powerful rig and sophisticated technology ensure fast and comfortable sailing for both gentle cruising and regatta racing.
Why is she special?
Marie’s light, open-plan interior is comfortable and welcoming, with traditional features including miniature cannons, muskets and a suit of armour recalling the Golden Age of exploration on the high seas.
A split-level saloon gives the first glimpse of the high gloss anigré finish that lends the interior its pale, golden ambience, illuminated by large skylights that filter plenty of natural light throughout the yacht. The deckhouse provides a relaxed bar and seating area, while a more formal setting below features a Steinway baby grand piano and an oval dining table.
Accommodation for eight to ten guests is configured in four ensuite cabins. The master suite has its own private cockpit aft.
The yacht carries a plethora of watersports equipment including kayaks, waterskis, paddleboards, wakeboards and inflatable tows. The exquisite Marietta, a 3.7m (12ft) 1910 Mylne-inspired sailing dinghy with an electric motor is perfect for exploring quiet bays, or teaching children to sail. The young and the mischievous will enjoy playing ‘pirates’, or take the opportunity to announce that dinner is served with a salute from Marie’s fully-operational cannons!
Those with a head for heights will also love the crow’s nest lift, which can hoist two guests 37.5m (123ft) up the main mast for spectacular views.
She is served by a dedicated crew of nine who are as passionate about five-star service as they are about sailing.
