Barbara Stork Landeweer a charter broker with International Yacht Collection (IYC) has been honored by FYBA (Florida Yacht Brokers Association) as its 2014 Charter Professional of the Year.
One of the yachting industry’s most prestigious awards, the Charter Professional of the Year is indicative of FYBA’s fundamental mandates “to unite those engaged in the yacht brokerage business for the purpose of promoting professionalism and cooperation among its members; and to promote and maintain a high standard of conduct in the transacting of the yacht brokerage business.”
FBYA represents more than 1100 individuals and 400 businesses. Understanding the importance of the charter industry in positioning the yachting lifestyle, in March 2004, FYBA established the Charter Professionals Committee. Its objectives are to promote a high standard of professionalism among those involved in the charter industry and to provide continuing educational programs. Its goals are to foster a greater understanding of common issues that pertain to all parties involved in the charter industry and to enhance the growth of the global charter market.
All FYBA charter members are involved in the selection of the Charter Professional of the Year. Landeweer comments, “It is an honor to receive this recognition and award from FYBA, the association that governs our industry. Charter professionals from many different companies vote on award selection. It makes me so proud that they think highly of me, my hard work and that my professional way of doing business is appreciated and acknowledged. This is a big deal!”

Barbara landed her first yachting job at Fraser, learning the business and ultimately deciding that being a yacht charter broker was for her. After many years in the yachting business, Barbara joined The Sacks Group Yachting Professionals, joining IYC when the firm acquired Sacks.
To provide the best luxury vacation charter experience possible, Barbara travels extensively each year and attends major annual charter shows including Genoa, Antigua, Newport and Greece.
