Free Seminar Investigates The Changing Shape of Superyacht Coms

e3 - Flat and Round Dome Comparison

Targeted at local captains, owners of shipyards, management companies and project managers, multi-broadband communications providers to the superyacht industry e3 Systems, are to host morning or afternoon seminars at the Bahia Mar Hotel, Fort Lauderdale, on Thursday, October 30th 2014.

Admission into the seminar will be free, but is strictly by “Invitation only”.

At the event they will be unveiling the latest key innovations in communication technology.

The initative follows successful launches at seminars in Europe, and will feature two of their partners, Kymeta Corporation, developers of flat panel satellite antennas, and Airbus Defence and Space, a maritime satellite communications provider

There will be two keynote speakers, the first being Håkan Olsson, Senior Director of Marketing from Kymeta Corporation. Håkan’s presentation will focus on “Domeless Solutions for a Mobile World”, a new concept with flat-panel solutions for next generation satellite TV and broadband connectivity. This new technology is being developed to create solutions for the whole mobile world, and with the initial focus on solutions for mega yachts.

Kymeta’s initial funding started with $50 Million from various investors, including Bill Gates, to change the entire dynamics of satellite mobile broadband with its development of a portable satellite broadband receiver about the size of a laptop. This new technology is being developed to create solutions for the whole mobile world, and also in space, but with the initial focus on solutions for mega yachts.

The second speaker will be Tore Morten Olsen, Head of Maritime Activities, Airbus Defence and Space, the world’s largest maritime satellite communications provider. Airbus Defence and Space has a worldwide presence and boasts revenues of approximately €14 billion a year. Tore’s presentation will be on ‘The Sky is No Longer the Limit!’ and will provide in-depth information on how their organization envisages the future of global satellite communications and how systems purchased today, with flexible contracts that include shared and dedicated services, can be “future ready”.

In addition to the keynote speakers, there will be a technical presentation by Tony Holland, e3’s Group Airtime and Contracts Director. Tony will present on the future of all marine data communication systems, and how you will be ‘Connected to Your Future’ with integrated and aggregated services, 100% Internet uptime, at affordable rates.

Roger Horner, Group Managing Director, e3 Systems, commented “Our company growth has evolved on a global platform to a business model where our mission is to be the industry reference for excellence in communications. In essence, we pride ourselves on improving the education and understanding of maritime technology, and with this seminar at FLIBS, we will clearly demonstrate our value to the assembled audience”.
