At the Monaco Yacht Show held over the closing days of September Fraser Yachts hosted the 14th edition of their Captain’s Dinner and Awards Night at the newly opened Monaco Yacht Club building.
Patrick Coote who traditionally hosted the evening in recent years has now left the company to join German shipbuilder Blohm and Voss leaving Lisa Peck the Global Marketing Manager of Fraser Yachts with the stage
Lisa carried out her duties as MC with great flair thanking the sponsors and announcing the winners. This year it was British Captains on yachts, all flying the red ensign who scooped all three awards
First to receive his prize was Captain Glen Smith whose crew of Mucho Mas won the prize of the best charter yacht under 50 metres. Free berthing at Vilanova Grand Marina a $1000 travel voucher from Global Marine Travel were just two of the many prizes bestowed upon him and his crew of 5. Charter manager Susan Harris told us, The Captain has a phenomenal crew and together they complete over 10 weeks of charter a year attracting many repeat clients and referrals.
Captain Owen Jones the Master of the 57.3 metre superyacht Diamond A picked up the award for the Best Charter Crew on a yacht of over 50 metres. Patricia Codere the yachts charter manager told us “Captain Jones and his Service Steward Andrew Adams handled 4 charter contracts totalling 9 weeks from July to September and that his crew of 15 pulled out all the stops to make them work well for the guests.”

His prize the envy of all those attending the awards was a Marine Chronometer writs watch manufactured by Ulysse Nardin and was presented to him by Sussanne Hurni of that company.
