The Norwegian ship builder, Kleven, which usually specialises in the construction of oil and fishing industry vessels, has launched a 107 metre an expedition support vessel that has been confirmed as being Ulysses
Built for Graeme Hart, New Zealand’s richest man reportedly worth around NZ$7 billion it is likely that she will become the shadow boat to his 77 metre Weta one of the two yachts whose construction was originally started in Chile.
Weta is currently in Whangarei New Zealandwhere construction is said to be completing.
Described by her builders as “very robust and seaworthy” she is they say, “especially suited to longer expeditions in rough waters, while also being designed for a “luxury” experience. It comes equipped with a helicopter deck, hangar, swimming pool, hot tub, and accommodation for 60 people.”
The boat builder is hoping this vessel will help them launch into the luxury market.
Hart had previously owned the 58-metre luxury motor yacht, also called Ulysses, before she was sold and renamed Grand Rusalina
