Southampton Airport Could Do a Lot Better

A quick overnight trip to The Netherlands proved how useful Southampton Airport is to the world of Superyachts linking as it does the centre of British Superyacht excellence in the south of the country with Nice in France and Amsterdam in Holland.

Yet the airport is a one trick pony when it comes to those destinations with flights operated by a single no frills high cost airline just one grade above Ryan Air.

Southampton is essentially a business airport, why then does it not mimicked the oh so efficient London City Airport with it’s short wait for flights and quick and easy passenger process handling.

It might help if it encouraged the likes of the business friendly easyJet to join the ranks of planes on the tarmac.

Competition is after all what is good for business and it keeps costs down.
