Since the 1950s the stories of both the Principality of Monaco and the Italian speed boat brand Riva have been entwined. They evolved naturally together for sixty years, from the first floating dock, by Carlo Riva, supported by Prince Rainier III, to the creation of the 100 m tunnel dug out of the rock, to keep the temperature of the boats constant in winter, like the methods used for fine wines.
Now inspired by the elegance and timeless style of the Riva Aquarama, is a new lounge to be located on the top floor of the new Yacht Club de Monaco building which opens shortly.
Ferretti Group, owner of the Riva brand and Yacht Club de Monaco (YCM) – the yacht club founded in 1953 by Prince Rainier III have teamed up to create a space completely dedicated to the Italian brand.
“Elegance is the noble, intrinsic form of beauty, that surpasses the fashions and tastes of the moment. Just like Riva, a timeless synonym of elegance and beauty in the sea. This lounge, designed by one of the biggest names in architecture, gives the new, fantastic venue of the most prestigious yacht club in the world an extra touch of exclusivity. So, I’m particularly proud to be able to inaugurate such an important space for the global nautical industry. This is a satisfaction that I want to share with the women and men, boat owners and talents that built the legendary Riva over the years,” commented Alberto Galassi, the newly appointed CEO of Ferretti Group.
