With Burger bars and, at a more up market level, Pop Up five star restaurants springing up for a short summer season all over the globe, it was only matter of time before the concept caught on in the world of superyachts.
It was Edmiston that beat the rest to it by opening a pop Up office in Porto Montenegro. The new office based at the heart of the marina will be open throughout the summer and will offer yachts available to charter in the area, including Mariu and Whirlwind.
Edmiston’s Head of Marketing, Rory Trahair, commented “We have seen a huge growth in charter bookings in the area and are thrilled to have been invited to open a temporary base here. With more enquiries year after year about chartering in Montenegro and Croatia, we’re certain that we can support the substantial growth this region is witnessing.”
This year, berth capacity at Porto Montenegro has increased from 250 to 430 holding yachts ranging from 12-75 metres, supporting a wider variety of superyachts.
Designed by Montenegrin company Yu Briv, it will incorporate an extension of existing jetties, a cutting edge fuel station and a state-of-the-art maintenance & refit facility for super and mega-yachts.
This summer, Porto Montenegro also welcomes a host of unique events to entertain visitors. The Arsenal Cup Weekend will also be back this year on 12 and 13 July and is open to all boat formats with races taking part on both Saturday and Sunday, a first for 2014 whilst August will welcome a Porto Montenegro first as an artistic duo partake in a 24 hour spontaneous ‘art battle’ in association with ArtCurial and Platinum Art.
