They might seem worlds apart in terms of operations but according to one German shipyard there is a synergy between the passenger carrying river cruiser plying the giant waterways of Europe and the superyacht.
Based on a recent enquiry, Dörries Yachts, have created a preliminary design for what they call a Luxury River Yacht.
A range of River Yachts, including 60m, 70m and 85m in length, are being designed in collaboration with H2 Yacht Design, who have also developed the interior designs for the concept.
Noteworthy technical highlights of the 85 metre vessels include:
- A tonnage under 3000gt
- Drive in car garage
- Float-in tender garage
- Indoor heated swimming pool
- Outdoor pool
- Helicopter deck
The design is based on rules that allow for save navigation in coastal waters, meaning an owner will be able to extend the vessels 5500km range way beyond inland waterways.
