Sailing a Bareboat in Antigua Sailing Week is on the bucket list of must do regattas. This is because of the great mix of superb sailing, class and course management and of course the parties which accompany the event each night.
The event features a number of bareboat classes that allow charterers to compete fairly with similar boats. Increasingly, the bareboat fleet consists of serious race charterers who enter to have fun and, in some cases are with us for the first time to enjoy a once in a life time experience. Naturally of course, everyone is in it to win. Boat owners and crews from around the world fly to Antigua for the week to compete without the hassle and expense of bringing their own boats.
For the third year running that Sunsail is to be involved as a sponsor of the event. They have a large fleet of Sunsail 44i’s entered every year which provides highly competitive racing in a one-design bareboat class. Many serious sailors enjoy the tough competition in this class.
As an entrant you can choose to stay on board or book accommodation locally meaning that it really is a hassle free experience. The entire Sunsail fleet based in Antigua has been booked for months and boats based in St. Maarten are also now fully booked for Antigua Sailing Week.
