Antonio Romano of Hot Lab Yachts & Design Studio, the Italian design firm is celebratory mood now that the superyacht Keyla, given a major refit to his design by RMK Marine has won Contract Category at the Society of British and International Design (SBID) International Design Awards 2013 held at The Dorchester Hotel, London.
Attending the Awards Ceremony with RMK project manager, Mark Poirier. Romano said, “This is a tremendous honour and an outward and visible sign of our firm’s ability.”
The 45.3 metre motor yacht Keyla was built by Trinity Yachts in 2003. The all aluminium semi- displacement hull and superstructure, is fitted with two MTU/DDC 16V2000 engines, 3,600HP and was refitted at RMK in Tusla Turkey during 2012 and 2013.
Revamping the interior for the new Owner’s lifestyle and needs meant that substantial stylistic changes has been introduced as well as several technical updates involving new equipment.
Hot Lab re-designed the entire yachts working closely with the Clients, the contemporary interior style is completely new and also on the exterior there are several important updates.
The Studio was started in Milan during 2004, and is based on the collective imagination, talent and creative spirit of three young Michele Dragoni, Enrico Lumini and Antonio Romano, all Italian designers, with previous experience in industrial, automotive and interior design, materials and processes.
From the outset they began delivering outstanding projects and styling, characterised by supreme elegance, subtly and warmth, accompanied by meticulous attention to detail, quality and innovation.
