Interior Yacht Crew are on the front line with Owners and Guests and yet sadly they receive the least training in the industry.
Hopefully all this is shortly about to change.
The PYA has been working hard in the last couple of years to firstly understand what it is that interior crew on board need and require in the way of training.
Not only have they developed courses in line with these goals but they are now at the stage where over 22 training providers worldwide have been accredited by the PYA as having met the standard for the provision of training for interior Crew.
During the Monaco Yachts Show, Joey Meen, the Course Director at the PYA for GUEST (Guidelines for Unified Excellence in Service Training) working with ACREW will host a Panel on the Thursday afternoon and inviting Interior Crew, Training Providers, Recruitment Agents, Captains to spark a debate on the ins and outs of Interior training, the value of establishing a standard for service levels and provision.
Starting at 3pm on Thursday 26 September inside the ‘before’ bar, the panel will investigate why all interior staff should be looking to obtain their CoC especially as this will serve in the very near future as a statement of achievement in the world outside of yachting.
Crew should register to attend via the website www.registration.acrew.com all business partners are also encouraged to attend.
E mail laura@acrew.com with “GUEST Panel” in the header to reserve a place.
