While sailing aboard Four Seasons Explorer in the Maldives and later while enjoying the Robinson Crusoe lifestyle at Gili Lankanfushi we have enjoyed our selves playing with a new toy that is likely to bring quality picture taking to millions of iPhone users.
Photographers who want to get twice as close to the action and get clear close-ups now have a solution, with this new ollocliptelephoto lens.
We enjoyed ourselves capturing crisp, close-ups. The fixed 2x magnification optical lens is made using a multi-element coated, optical quality, precision-ground glass lens and high-grade aluminium body and it slides on and off the phone in seconds.
Working on the water we found the circular polariser lens (CPL), which comes with it blocks out light coming in at user-adjustable angles. This means we capture colours that truer to what we see and the filter reduces reflections.
Take a look at what we shot. The images below are of a small locally crafted wooden carving of a shark
We have found that in addition to getting twice as close to our subject, the lens provides us with a more creative depth of field and we can can use selective focus to make our subjects stand out distinctly from their backgrounds.
