Unbeknown to the passengers sailing in the Maldives on board Four Seasons Explorer, the crew began work on the island the moment the last of the guests left on their way to refresh for dinner.

We went ashore slightly before sunset to photograph the scene but the remaining guests arrived after the sun had slide beneath the horizon.

Flaming torches lit the way. Candles became up lighters as they burned in pits dug into the sand and the most spectacular of tables had been carved into the sand with sand seating all beautifully draped in appropriately coloured cloths.
