We have been at Gili Lankanfushi, in the Maldives for just three days but in that short time we have quickly established how it is that they have been named as:
- The Indian Ocean’s Leading Luxury Resort
- The Indian Ocean’s Leading Spa Resort
- The Maldives’ Leading Luxury Resort.
They picked up all three awards in May of this year at the World Travel Awards 2013 Indian Ocean ceremony.
The industry’s elite, including CEO’s and SVPs of leading travel companies, President of the Maldives, government ministers and tourist board chiefs, attended the gala event hailed as “The Oscars of the Travel Industry”. World Travel Awards celebrates its 20th Anniversary this year and is acknowledged across the globe as the ultimate travel accolade, celebrating those brands that are pushing the boundaries of industry excellence in product and service.
Iain McCormack, the General Manager told of us of the resorts accolades while we walked across the sands with him. Her told us: “We’re thrilled to be recognised as the leading luxury resort in the Indian Ocean region, Our hosts have worked extremely hard for this and their continuous dedication to reach the highest levels of services is great testimonies of what we have achieved so far.”
Gili Lankanfushi, Maldives marks the parent company – Hotel Properties Limited’s fifth property in the Maldives.
The other properties owned within the group are Four Seasons Resort at Kuda Huraa and Landaa Giraavaru both of which hosted us during our stay in the Maldives.
The group also owns the Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma; and Rihiveli Beach Resort
