Delivered to her owner by Benetti at the end of last month, the 42 metre Luna is the second yacht in Benetti’s Crystal 140 semi-custom series.
Built to LY2 and flagged under Cayman Islands Shipping Registry with ABS Class Certificates, Luna delivers a top speed of 15 knots from two Caterpillar C32 ACERTs with a range of up to 4,000 nautical miles at 12 knots. Accommodation for 10 guests in five cabins is configured as an owner’s suite, two double and two twin cabins.
Special features of the yacht include a large open sundeck with sunbeds, Jacuzzi and dining for 12, a stylish beach club complete with gym, steam shower and changing area, and a garage with gullwing doors for fast deployment of tenders and water toys.
Benetti worked with a wide ranging selection of consultants in the super yacht industry, including François Zuretti on the interior design concept.
Project managed by Burgess Technical Services (BTS) and has now joined the Burgess fleet of managed yachts as a private yacht. The technical team at Burgess began their involvement with the project right at inception, assisting with pre-contract negotiations and specifications, followed by full support throughout the two year build process.
Burgess specified the Novurania main tender, a cutting edge audio-visual installation and top-of-the-line Glynn Peter Machin furniture. The full faired Awlgrip paint system, just one of the exceptional features of the yacht, was commissioned from one of the industry’s leading paint consultants. “Close attention was particularly paid to the owner’s stringent requirements for noise and vibration reduction,” explains Patrick Cronin, marine engineer with BTS.
