Pressing the Body’s Reset Button

Spa treatment rooms at the Ayurvedic spa at Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru are thatched cabins on stilts that are built out into the lagoon.  It is here in rooms with glass floors that you lie, face down, and watch the exotic fish life dart in and out of coral enclaves while Thai and Balinese girls get to work on your back.

Before that we sipped a cool and refreshing iced tea made using cinnamon, ginger, honey peppermint and lime while choosing our treatment.
Our Kundalini Back Massage began with our feet being washed and massaged out side the treatment room after which we were shown inside to disrobe our sarongs and asked to lie on tables side by side.

Kundalini is the powerful yet dormant energy located at the base of the spine, which when awakened travels up the spine to the third eye bringing increased energy and spiritual enlightenment.

This holistic massage involves breathing techniques and gentle stroking and cupping along the body’s seven chakras which relaxes, restores, levitalizes and releases the natural within.

Did it work for us?  Who really knows, but we can attest to the fact that we felt good 90 minutes later
