Ocean Yacht Systems the Subject of a Management Buy-Out

Rigging Hydraulics and Thruster suppliers to the super yacht industry Ocean Yacht Systems (OYS) has been successfully purchased in a Management Buy-Out (MBO), deal whereby the current Directors have purchased the company for an undisclosed sum with immediate effect.
Having been guided by a holding Company since 1998, OYS have been known for innovative products and pushing the boundaries with technical developments within the superyacht industry for thruster, hydraulic and rigging solutions.
Together with the holding company, OYS have always taken a very proactive role in investing and encouraging continuous development and flexibility in order to meet the challenging market needs.
This innovation has been driven by the management team who have now instigated and completed this MBO.
The primary contacts remain the same with Wayne Shatwell continuing to lead as Managing Director, supported by Daniel Wilson as Finance Director, Mark Barwell as Sales Director and Ian Crowden as Technical Director.
“This is a very exciting time for everyone at OYS,” explains Wayne Shatwell. “The four of us have worked together now for the last seven years, we have adapted the company to the changes in the market place and we are looking to continue this progression.”
The company had originally established itself as a world leader in the manufacture and supply of Nitronic 50 rod rigging to the superyacht industry, rigging the world’s largest sloop, with the tallest mast and largest sail area, Mirabella V.

Subsequently they moved into composites working with Kevlar and PBO. In addition to this, since 2006 OYS has been associated with the design, engineering and manufacturing of award winning bespoke propulsion, thruster and hydraulic systems.
