The worlds top yachting journalists are flocking to Ancona this weekend to witness the launching of the latest super yacht to slide down the slipway at the CRN yard.
We will fly to Bologna and then catch a train down to Ancona staying at the Grand Hotel Passetto.
Chopi Chopi is to be largest ever super yacht launched by that shipyard. At 80 metres she is going to cause quite a stir given her size and unusual layout. She has a beam of 13.5 metres and an internal volume of 2,400 tons.
Chopi Chopi built in steel and aluminum project, was designed by the builders in-house team with exterior styling by Zuccon International. They are also resposible for the GA and have worked with Laura Sessa Romboli and CRN Centro Stile to create the interior design.
Decor details haven’t been revealed yet, and the interior is a long way off being finished, but Chopi Chopi does have a few interesting twists on traditional super yacht layouts.All guest staterooms are on the main deck, for example, and the Owners accommodation occupies the entire upper deck with its own direct access from the yachts helipad.
Powered by two 1,640kW Caterpillar engines, she is expected to have a top speed of 16 knots, and a cruising speed of 15 knots with a range of 6,000 nautical miles at 12 knots
