Making your way around the 53rd Annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show this year will be easier than in previously.
The show’s organisers have launched enhancements to MyBoatShow, their smart phone app designed to help navigate the show’s docks, land areas tents and transportation.
New features, set to debut for the show which runs from October 25th to the 29th, include the following:
- Search feature allowing attendees to search for boats by name;
- Upgraded “favorite” feature enabling users to see which boats they favored at other boat shows;
- Contact form renamed “Connect,” allowing users to connect with the show organisers, access their YouTube page, Twitter, Facebook and the ability to subscribe to the Show Management e-newsletter.
Launched at the 2011 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, the free app, available on iPhone and Android platforms, provides show maps and allows attendees to search for exhibitors, manufacturers, product categories and boats by specifications and size.
The app, which is available for all Show Management produced boat shows, also provides:
- The show schedule
- Seminar information
- Show transportation schedules
- Maps
- Food and drink locations
- Restroom locations
- Emergency services.
It also can be used to purchase show tickets and see the latest show news.
“The features we’ve added to the MyBoatShow app make it easier for each person to create a boat show experience that best meets his or her personal preferences,” said Steve Sheer, director of marketing/advertising/sponsorships with Show Management, the company that manages and produces the show. “It’s just one example of how we continually look for new ways to engage attendees with innovative additions to their overall show experience.”
In addition to the new smartphone app capabilities, Show Management has added to its website a more user-friendly search feature and display of boats. A seminar section now includes a summary of the topic, the speaker and time the seminar takes place. Visitors to the website also will be able to connect with AIM Marine Group magazines including
- PassageMaker
- Power & Motoryacht
- Sail, Soundings
- Soundings Trade Only
