More Changes as Ferretti Group appoints New Chairman and Group Managing Director

When Ferretti MD Salvatore Basile died last year aged only 58 somewhat unexpectedly his colleague Giancarlo Galeone steped into the breach and was at the helm when Ferretti was sold to the SHIG-Weichai Group of China.

Now Group Chairman Chairman Tan Xuguang has Replaced Galeone with Ferruccio Rossi as the yacht builders new Managing Director.

Norberto Ferretti, the Group’s Founder will take on the role of Honorary Chairman.

Ferruccio Rossi is more banker than boat builder He took his degree in Business Economics at “L. Bocconi” University in Milan in 1995. In 1999 he attended the Business Financial Program at the London Business School.

From 1995 to 1998 he worked as Consultant for the KPMG Consulting, gaining experience from several industrial sectors. In 1998 he was member of Investment Banking Team of ING Barings and in 1999 he became the Manager of Investment Banking Team of JP Morgan Chase &Co., coordinating a lot of fusion and acquisition operations.
From 2001 to 2005 he was the manager of Permira in Milan. Here he worked in the field of investments evaluation, administrating societies that allocate public services.

But boating beckoned when in 2005 he was made General Manager of Riva and became the Managing Director of that firm in September 2006. Most recently he was Ferretti Group Country Manager in the USA.
