Monaco Gears up for The September Superyacht Show

The Principality of Monaco sits at the peak of world hospitality when it comes to hotels and restaurants and each year in time for the Monaco Yacht Show each venue tries to outdo its own spectacular record for excellence.

Here is what is happening this year.

Hotel Métropole Monte-Carlo chose Karl Lagerfeld to redesign its outside premises, including the pool, terrace and gardens. This is Lagerfeld’s first ever architectural/hotel design project and phase one is set to be unveiled in time for the show. The designer is also creating a stunning piece of artwork exclusively for the hotel – a fresco-style installation, made from 15 impressive glass panels and portraying Ulysses’ journey. He is also responsible for the interiors of the new Joel Robuchon restaurant at the hotel that sadly will not be opening time for the Show
Louis XV Alain Ducasse, Monaco’s first 3 Michelin star restaurant, celebrates its 25th birthday this year. Located at the iconic Hotel de Paris, the restaurant is celebrating with a special 7-course menu, that will remain available until November 2012.

New restaurants to sample while at the show include the Cipriani that opened in May 2012 for the Grand Prix; Bouchon in front of Grimaldi Forum and Ostrega de Munegu, a new oyster bar opened in market square, Place d’Armes.

Yacht crews as well as Show goers will no doubt want to check out changes at Star’s n Bar’s which relaunched in April following a full renovation.
