Back in 2010, the Merchant Bank and Operational Risk Management firm Salamanca Group acquired Marina Port Vell.
The Barcelona marina had been inaugurated in 1992 for the Olympic Games held in the city and the merchant bankers entered the area with a long term plan of transforming the asset by amalgamating the Group’s multifaceted divisions for the project.
Two years later work is underway with phased marina completions beginning in Autumn 2012, Marina Port Vell will provide berths from 10m to 180m.
It will provide five star facilities and concierge services for owners, captains and crew of the world’s finest yachts; well-conceived security arrangements; and, the most innovative marina technologies available.
The Group expects Marina Port Vell to become one of the Mediterranean’s leading marinas providing direct and significant economic and aesthetic value to Barcelona and to meet the Group’s vision of providing highly incentivized value for clients.
