In original report in Super Yacht Chartering about Lars, the 36m ice class expedition yacht was on her way to Spitsbergen. The latest news is that from August 18 she will be available for charters in Spitzbergen. Charterers can either enjoy her for a charter in that location or for 2 weeks on a trip to Iceland and Greenland. August is the best timing for this area.
On August 18 the yacht will be located in Longyearbyen close to the airport, which has very good connections with other Scandinavian airports.Cruising the Greenland coast is a once in a lifetime opportunity. It is the world’s largest island with 80% of the total area covered by an ice cap and many glaciers. From early in June until the end of September is the ideal period to cruise along the Greenland coast including the inland fjords. North of Sisimiut you cross into the Arctic Circle. Exploring Greenland by sea is a great way to get to know the world’s largest island and to meet the islanders in their busy harbours.
