Next week eleven Superyachts will take part in three days of racing and four days of social activities off Cowes.
The fleet of yachts that making their way to Cowes to participate in the first ever Superyacht Cup regatta to be hosted in the UK. The event takes place from 22 to 25 July, and this special event is being held to celebrate the London 2012 Olympics.
The 62 metre Athos with her crew of over 40, and the slightly smaller Adela at 55 metres will be star attractions.
Athos will be moored at Trinity Landing for everyone to see. Also of interest is the newly launched Wally designed Superyacht Hamilton, belonging to Carphone Warehouse’s CEO Sir Charles Dunstone who is a familiar face at yacht racing events in Cowes.
Her Majesty The Queen will visit Cowes on Wednesday, 25 July.
The Superyacht Cup promises be a real showcase for Cowes and Cowes Harbour Commission. The whole of the Superyacht Cup Cowes fleet will join in a Diamond Jubilee Parade of Sail in front of The Queen.
Spectators can watch race starts across the Royal Yacht Squadron line with the first start due at 1105 on Monday, 23 July.
