After our pre breakfast walk into town, we enjoyed a morning cruise through an area known locally as Little Venice of the Grâtinais, past flower-bedecked bridges and medieval watercourses joining France’s oldest canal. We enjoyed the wonderful scenery and were also an attractive part of it for others.
Renaissence took us through the Loiret countryside offering us yet another opportunity of cycling along the towpath.
The afternoon visit was to the splendid town of Moret-sur-Loing, home to the great Impressionist artist Alfred Sisley. This medieval walled town is still an inspiration for painters today, with its elegant renaissance facades, colourful shops and medieval half-timbered house.
