The 2012 Tuyap Istanbul Boat Show runs from18th to 25th of February and those visiting will be able to witness the world premier of the new Bahama Bay 61 from Vicem
Fitted with Volvo IPS Drives, the firm claims this to be the easiest to drive Vicem cruiser ever. The design merges Vicem’s classic Down East styling with the latest cutting edge technologies of Volvo IPS and is only the second of their range to do so. The first was the Bahama Bay 54.
The new boat combines all of the great attributes of the builder’s Classic line, including the with the modern advantages of the drive train.
Built using tried and tested cold-moulded mahogany construction, the resultant boat is a +20knots cruiser with outstanding manoeuvrability that offers excellent efficiency, and a top speed of 30knots.
The specially designed exterior differentiates it from the Classic Line range and provides for a more rakish profile, a fully covered cockpit and increased interior natural lighting thanks to the new large oval side-windows in the master cabin and galley.
The interior layout is spacious with a midships master cabin, guest cabin with twin beds, and a very private and roomy VIP towards the bow.
Built for the Mediterranean and more tropical climates, the Bahama Bay range has less of a curve in the sheer line, no varnished-teak hand and toe rails above deck and an hardtop that extends all the way aft to cover the teak-laden cockpit.
Yet because with its classic look and profile without the need of high cost maintenance, it is because of the large, mid-ship master cabin, likely to appeal to the North American market as well.
