Charter activity is back at 2007 levels in terms of the number of weeks booked according to Fraser Yachts. Unfortunately more yachts are available for charter so supply is greater than demand and competition remains fierce.
Rather than cut prices the clever yacht owners are improving on quality of service and crew.
The Caribbean winter season has been quiet with many yachts unchartered over Christmas and the New Year. But the season does appear to be slightly better than 2010.
Other areas such as the Maldives where there is a smaller choice of yachts to charter are having a better winter season.
