The first ever Super-yacht Cup to be held in Cowes will take place next year.
To celebrate the 2012 London Olympics, the organisers of the Superyacht Cup have announced that the 16th edition of the Reggatta will take place in the traditional venue of Palma, Mallorca from June 20 to 23, before coming to Cowes for the first time between July 22 to 25.
The event will be organised in association with the Royal Yacht Squadron, offering owners and guests a unique experience of sailing in The Solent and around the IW, following the course made famous by the first America’s Cup in 1851.
The four-day regatta (3 days racing) is open to superyachts over 24m however entries will be limited.
The Royal Yacht Squadron will be the Organising Authority responsible for providing the race management and course setting for the event. The Superyacht Cup team will manage the overall event including the social programme.
