Yacht Carbon Offset nominated for ISS Fabien Cousteau Blue Award

In 2010 The International Superyacht Society announced the creation of the ISS Fabien Cousteau Blue Award, to celebrate stewardship of marine ecosystems.
This will next be presented during ISS’s International Awards for Design and Leadership Gala on 27th October 2011, the opening night of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

The ISS Fabien Cousteau Blue Award celebrates stewardship of marine ecosystems. Environmental leadership, global oceanic conservation and resource preservation are prerequisites for nomination. The integration of environmental technologies and resource management with the goal of setting achievable standards and models for wide adaptation in the design, engineering and building of large yachts—and the use of the Earth’s waterways—are essential criteria. Nominations are made by owners and the yachting industry; selection is by panel of judges, including Mr. Cousteau.

Among the nominees is Yacht Carbon Offset a specialist service for those who own and enjoy superyachts and seek to take action to balance  a yacht’s greenhouse gas emissions.
Yacht Carbon Offset’s Mark Robinson said: “It is a great honour to be nominated and a wonderful milestone for our company to be recognised in this way.  More and more leading yacht owners see minimising their greenhouse gas impact as a highly relevant consideration.  Our mission is to meet this requirement, for any yacht, with a practical, rigorous and straightforward service.”
