Charter bookings back to 2007 levels but over-supply will mean disappointment for some
The charter market is 25% up from last year and even higher in the US which did not start the recovery as early as Europe.
According to Fraser Yachts the total volume of charter has completely recovered and we are back to the level of 2007.
However, not everyone will see the current market as being a healthy one.
Since 2007 many yachts have been delivered by the shipyards. Most of those yachts have joined the charter market therefore the current supply of charter yachts is much higher than in 2007 and higher than the current demand.
As a result of this, brokers at Fraser Yachts believe the charter prices are still under pressure and yacht owners are not always selling the same amount of charter weeks as they were before.
