Racing today began slowly as we waited for the wind to pick up.
After a delayed start, thirteen beautiful Perini Navi yachts crossed the line one after the other in a staggered start sequence that saw Selene, the boat we are racing in, get across just ahead of the sloop Salute which was the last to start.
The winds were light, we started far behind the early starters and did not do quite as well as our enthusiastic crew and charter guests would have liked.
The wind picked up a little towards the end of the race and in 15 knots of apparent wind we were creaming along at over 9.5 knots
Did we win? No
Did we come close? No
But did we have fun? You bettcha!
