Watkins Superyachts Ltd the London Based yacht management team is to run a second of its two day ISM auditor courses. It does so in response to a number of requests from clients and colleagues and in discussion with Red Ensign registries recognising a shortage of training aimed specifically at the large yacht sector.
The course is principally aimed at those who may be responsible for or wish to have a greater understanding of ISM and the audit process and if necessary, will enable the individual to carry out a sensible, yacht-friendly audit.
It will however focus on how external audits are conducted and by the end of the course, the delegate will be able to understand the process of both. The course will be for the benefit of both the auditee and the auditor and will aim to address some of the commercial emphasis which often marginalises crews of large yachts. The ISM Code has recently been revised and the course will include a session of formal risk assessment with an emphasis on yacht-friendly compliance whilst reducing paperwork to its most efficient level.
The next course will be held at the Hotel Ambassadeur, Juan Les Pins on 8th and 9th March 2011 at a cost of € 450.00 pr head which will include light refreshment and lunch.
The course is aimed at any Captain, Officer or crew member who is either new to ISM, requires a refresher, or simply wishes to add to their existing knowledge. It will also be of interest to crews of self-managed commercial yachts where shore-based management support may be minimal and ISM compliance may be required. The course is intended to be informal, informative and will encourage delegate participation.
All participants will obtain a certificate on completion. Further courses can also be arranged for complete crews on board or ashore, tailored to individual need
