Great news for those seeking to charter in the South Seas. The Cook Islands Government has approved a financial guarantee to enable an Air New Zealand B767 direct flight servicing Sydney-Rarotonga-Sydney to operate from July 2010 for a four month trial period.
This new flight is a move to improve access to the Islands and has been on the Cook Island Tourism agenda for some time. Visitors from the UK continue to travel via LAX direct to Rarotonga in the Cook Islands and this additional flight will open up access directly from Australia allowing customers to add the destination onto their itineraries.
The Cook Islands comprise of 15 islands randomly scattered across the heart of the South Pacific with most visitors spending time on Rarotonga and Aitutaki. The islands spread over a vast area roughly the size of India but have a population of just 18,000, similar to that of a small English town.
Sail Connections Limited have an exciting selection of superyachts available for charter in the area
Lying between American Samoa, Fiji and Tahiti, the islands are almost the other side of the world from the UK but are looking forward to welcoming more UK visitors who can now access Rarotonga via Sydney as well as Los Angeles, Auckland or Tahiti.
