Turkish superyacht builder signs top designer
The paint is not even dry on Africa the builders first yacht and already Sunrise Yachts has announced plans for a new design this time from the desk of Espen Øino. Founded by German entrepreneur Herbert P. Baum and French-British yacht-builder Guillaume Roché the Turkish yacht builder whose facilities are in Antalya is developing with Espen Øino and interior designer Franck Darnet designs that will include a 52m, 57m and 65m.
The designs focus on bringing owners and guests closer to the sea and to light: huge areas of glass for amazing light and views, skylights, opening balconies, a central architectural spiral staircase and separate functions for each deck are some of the most notable interior design features.
Guillaume Roché, President of Sunrise Yachts, stated: “For the development of our new series, it was important for us to work with people who “think outside of the box”, who are able to draw on their experience as much as being responsive to the demands of today’s yacht owners. Espen Øino and his very competent team were therefore a natural choice as his inspiring talent and his keen ear to current
trends synthesise into incredible ideas. If you add the impressively creative mind of interior designer Franck Darnet, the resulting fusion of creativity and innovation is a stunningly beautiful and original yacht line, which we hope will break some new ground in the art of living on the water. I can’t wait to see this project become reality and people’s response to our vision!”
The yacht will be promoted in cooperation with marketing partner Camper & Nicholsons (Michael Payne, Monaco office), who has been promoting the two 45m Scanu designed motor-yachts currently under construction at the shipyard (delivery August 2009 and July 2010).
