Ivan Erdevicki the Canadian based yacht designer and naval architect has a keen sense for aesthetics, space, light and proportions.
He frequently combines the art of design with engineering skill to breathe life into a concept and here has done so again.
The ER175 is superyacht concept designed to be built by Icon Yachts that has a sleek shape, stunning looks and dynamic swept back lines give the yacht a powerful image, an impressive statement of authority.
Icon and Erdevicki, have teamed up to complete the concept analysis and estimation to offer a complete design and build package. The interior design and decor is left intentionally open to be influenced by the prospective client.
The 53 metre yacht is under 500gt and designed to be built as a semi-displacement aluminium hull with 31 plus knots speed or as a full-displacement hull in steel and aluminium superstructure with a lower speed. Both options come with a transatlantic range at cruising speed.
The long waterline hull is designed for fuel efficiency and twin diesel engines ensure reliable and smooth sailing. The powerful bullet shaped bow defined by natural sheer lines is designed carve through the waves and provide reserve buoyancy for a smooth ride under all conditions.
This three-deck design can provide a spacious interior and generous semi-sheltered deck space for leisure and entertainment. The accommodation sports a full beam, extra large owners stateroom on the main deck separated from all other accommodation, a generous galley leading into the full size dining area and spacious saloon with bar opening onto a veranda large enough to accommodate all guests and additional day visitors when required.
Four or five full size guest suites can be located on the lower deck with direct access to the main deck and separated from the crew quarters with their own lounge and access to the upper decks. The pilothouse deck, aft behind the bridge and captain’s cabin, sports the sky lounge, open air bar and full size dining area shaded by a powered canvass awning, ending with a circular Jacuzzi with seating and sun beds for relaxation.
Aft at the lower deck level there are plans for a large, permanent beech club for sunbathing and boarding the yacht’s tender and jet skis, which would be stored in the boat-house with side launching through a hydraulic door, without disturbing the beech club arrangement at all times. The fast RIB lifeboat would be stowed away discretely behind the bow sun deck seating for a quick launch with the hydraulic crane also stowed away alongside the RIB.
