Fort Lauderdale Show Gets Damp Start

The Ft Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) got off to another rainy start when Hurricane Sandy sent high winds and deluges of rain through yachts and exhibits.
Many parts of the show where inaccessible for the first two days with one tent evacuated following severe damage.

This is not the first show where visitors have had to wade through flooded areas and exhibitors have had to suffer damage to stands caused when carpets that cover drains cause their display areas to flood.
Hurricane Sandy, was responsible for the deaths of 21 people in the Caribbean, ripped through the Bahamas and passed off shore
offshore, pushing heavy rain and winds into parts of the Florida peninsula.
With the weather clearing for the next and final part of the five day show, the hurricane is now threatening the North East coast of the country.
