While cruising the New England coast of Maine we have come across what is to us a new series of Yacht Insider’s Guide.
Published by Shorelink Publications they are the result of thorough research, backed by countless interviews with captains, crew members and yacht owners.
They offer the best local insight when arriving in a new harbour, with information about:
- Major marinas able to handle large yachts, including specific data
- Shoreside highlights, with a list of selected restaurants, bars, shops, spas, entertainment, hiking trails, bike paths, golf courses, watersport spots.
- Useful general information, with a selection of hotels, charming inns, villa rentals, taxi service, along with renowned local doctors, dentists, chiropractors etc
- Local airports, private airlines, local transportation
Plus a complete list of all the captains’ and crew’ recommended marine technical services, provisioning facilities and any services one might need when on a yacht.
Here it works well and are a good find. Whether or not the company’s guide to The Ballerarics or the French coast of the Mediterrean will catch on equally well in what is a very crowded market remains to be seen.
